Pay the Federal Government employees while the people it's intended for get to work. We pay for yet another paid holiday with our tax dollars for them only on the backs of Indigenous Peoples. Makes me ill.

I appreciate those who are concerned that federal government employees receive the Truth and Reconciliate Day off however we are not entitled the provincial observance days off such as BC Day. So it all evens out in the end.

Let's be fair. All Canadians whether government employed or not should share the same paid holidays. The government employees certainly do not work any harder.

Funny how FEDERAL GOV'T gets a paid holiday for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, but the people it's directly meant for, and the rest of the country have to go to work...

Truth and Reconciliation Day is NOT national stat holiday, it is just for federally regulated employees only, but not for everyone. We in Alberta do not get the day off while we get all other stats

Quebec is being disrespectful in calling it Fete fed Patriotes. Perhaps we can find an English name for St. Jean de Baptiste holiday.

A few small business owners complaining that too many stat holidays cost them too much and they can't afford this. Part of a sound business plan is to factor in holiday pay (along with sick days etc). I agree, there is confusion around what day is a holiday in which province but...

National Truth & Reconciliation Day is also a holiday for provincial government employees in Ontario
